Sustainability

Wandering Coast Collective is a small business set in the heart of Bridport, a creative transition town on the Jurassic Coast of England.
What is a Transition Town?
A transition town is led by a environmentally conscious community working towards reducing local energy consumption by encouraging local production and consumption. Transition towns also work hard to reduce the community's reliance of oil and single-use plastics by helping folks implement more sustainable energy sources into their homes and businesses and encouraging the use of reusable and recycled packaging. Our lovely artsy town of Bridport is crammed full of independent shops, artists and makers and we all do our part, individually and as a community to actively lower our carbon footprint as much as possible.
Sustainability at Wandering Coast Collective
✹ We use natural organic materials or recycled materials wherever possible
✹ Textiles used in our products are OEKO-TEX® certified
✹ Most of our products are now manufactured in the UK, reducing shipping by over 4000 miles - like these beautiful recycled cotton blankets
✹ We use zero plastic packaging and 100% of our packaging is biodegradable
As a business (a tiny team of 2), we're just getting started on our sustainability journey and have so many plans to improve the way we work. Some of our manufacturing is done by skilled artisans in India that we've forged strong friendships with so we are able to ensure that workers are paid well and that working conditions are good. We also plan to start working with some of our favourite charities, donating a percentage of our profits to causes close to our hearts. We'd love to keep you updated with the progress we make, so if you'd like to follow our sustainability journey then join our community by adding your email below.
